iMessage and FaceTime not working on Mac Pro and message stating to contact Support came on

iMessage and FaceTime not working on Mac Pro and a message stating to contact Support came on with a verification code. It was working on 8/29 but stopped on 8/30. When I called support to even speak with anyone they wanted $19. I don't want to pay $19 for an Apple problem. I cleared my key chain, also reset my apple ID password but still not working. Works fine on my iPhone.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)

There is no official public documentation of that error message as far as I know, but according to reports, it can mean (at least sometimes) that the same Apple ID is being used with the iTunes Store or one of the other Apple content stores, and the payment method is invalid. Sign in to the store and review your account. You do not, of course, have to provide any billing information to set up an account to use only with iMessage, as it's a free service.

Otherwise, do what the error message tells you to do. According to reports, you won't be charged for the call if you select "Apple ID" as the product you need support for, and cite the customer code in the alert as the "validation code" to the support representative.

If you haven't fixed the issue yet, there's hope! I went through the exact same situation today and both are in perfect working order once again. I called their customer support line and rather than state I had an issue with my macbook, I kept repeating "Apple ID" until the operator recognized the command and transferred my call. I spoke to three technicians in total, and spent a good hour on the phone, but by the time a senior technician was on the line with me, he fixed the problem in about 20 seconds (go figure). Just make sure you tell them that you aren't experiencing trouble with your Apple ID as a whole, it is only these to programs not allowing it to process. They not once asked me for any form of payment and I'm pretty sure that was due to the lack of complexity actually associated with the glitch. Maintain that everything else is in working order and you should be fine. Also, be sure to supply them with the error code (if one popped up).

This is absolutely ridiculous, shame on *APPLE*.....

If Apple knows whats going on here (i'm sure they knows)..why can't they release the fix or at least let people know when you are going to address the issue.

And some people are saying try this ...add this edit that...all BULL ****...nothing ever works, but if you call apple everything works??? go to ****.

There are many people facing the issue not just 1 or 2, please do consider every ones time and try to address the issue.

Hi, I found the solution :

1- Make sure your apple id and its password are correct. you my test them in applied.com

2- Click on iMessage icon

3- Goto messages menu

4- Click on add account and choose "Other message accounts"

5- Change AIM to Jabber for the type of the account

6- Enter your apple id and its password

Do a dance !

Even nice people in apple support tried several time to solve this problem and everything except the above right solution !!
